Scott Street Neighbours Gather at Local Motorcamp

On a sunny afternoon, Scott Street neighbours gathered for a street meeting at the picturesque Top10 Motorcamp. We were grateful to be hosted at this lovely venue, which many residents had never explored despite living in the area for decades.

The event was a delightful mix of socializing and safety discussions. Neighbours arrived with their children, who enjoyed the playground while the adults mingled.  A highlight was the attendance of an ex-Police Officer, who provided valuable insights during the safety discussion.

Special thanks go to Ruth Strawbridge for organizing the meeting and ensuring everything ran smoothly. Also appreciated were Cambridge Real Estate who generously provided sausages for the BBQ, and our Neighbourhood Support staff member who cooked!  As neighbours got to know one another, they shared their safety concerns and ideas for improving our community.

One of the key topics was the formation of a Facebook group to facilitate easier communication among residents. Before the meeting closed we were asked about the next meeting, indicating the community’s eagerness to stay connected and engaged!

Overall, the street meeting was a success, fostering a sense of unity and cooperation among neighbours. We look forward to many more such gatherings in the future.
