Making our Community Safer
When we talk about building safer, more resilient communities, practical skills matter — and few skills are more vital than knowing how to respond in an emergency. That’s why we were thrilled to partner with St John and bring their excellent 3 Steps for Life CPR exercise to one of our recent rural community meetings.
Residents jumped in with enthusiasm, refreshing their knowledge, practising hands‑on techniques, and gaining confidence in what to do when every second counts. The session wasn’t just informative — it was empowering. People left feeling more capable, more connected, and more prepared.
What makes this partnership even more exciting is St John’s commitment to continue working alongside us. They’re happy to join residential street meetings, neighbourhood gatherings, and other community events we host. That means more opportunities for residents to learn, practise, and stay up‑to‑date with lifesaving skills.
This isn’t just about CPR. It’s about strengthening the wider community. When more people know what to do in an emergency, everyone benefits. Confidence grows. Response times improve. And rural communities — often far from immediate help — become safer places to live.
